Our Story

Affordable Housing Solutions (AHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1978 to provide financing for two HUD Section 8 housing projects. AHS serves as an instrumentality of the Sioux Falls Housing and Redevelopment Commission (SFHRC).

OUR mission is to improve the quality of life for the Sioux Falls Community and its work force residents by providing affordable, safe, and nondiscriminatory housing opportunities that further self-sufficiency and/or independent living,

Affordable Housing Solutions (AHS) currently owns and manages 132 income-eligible apartments, providing safe, stable, and affordable housing opportunities for residents throughout Sioux Falls. Through quality property management and a commitment to our mission, AHS continues to create communities where individuals and families can build a strong foundation and a place to call home.

We are also actively partnering with developers to create more affordable housing opportunities throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding communities. Through these partnerships, we are working together to expand housing options, address the growing need for affordable homes, and help more individuals and families find a safe place to call home.
